Mr Chay Yee joined Coleman College as its CEO and Principal in 1992, bringing with him valuable management and human resources development experiences as well as contacts from his work engagement in 5 tertiary institutions in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong and 21 years as a senior public servant in the Ministry of Finance and Singapore’s internationally known Central Provident Fund Board . He served as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Central Provident Fund Board from 1970 to 1992 during which he played a leading role in its growth and development and personally provided consultancy and advisory services to many countries, including China.
Mr Chay also played a leading role in the establishment of Singapore’s largest charity organization (the Community Chest of Singapore) and served as its board member for 16 years. In recognition of his social and community services, he was awarded the Public Service Medal "PBM" by the President of Singapore. At the international level, he has been awarded “Outstanding United Way International Affiliate Board Member” by United Way International, a global network of non-profit charity organizations operating in 45 countries. Currently, he serves as a director in several companies, including a public listed company in Singapore.
In addition to his work in Coleman, he also provides consultancy services to the government of Rwanda and Fiji.
